Peaks

Small teams often find it difficult to cope with the sudden influx of orders that can come in on certain days, like Black Friday or collection launch dates.

Staffing problems

In small teams, staff shortages in the warehouse due to illness or holidays can have a huge impact and result in shipping delays.

Storage space

Storage space is expensive – and most long-term leases don’t give you the flexibility you need to scale your business.

    FAQ - what does...

    Warehousing

Warehousing or inventory management refers to the cost-effective storage of goods in a mostly good and international location, which ensures short and fast transport routes. Warehousing or inventory management deals with all decisions that affect stock levels. This includes questions such as which goods should be stored in which quantity and at which location in order to be available as quickly as possible.

    Inventory Management

Inventory is generally defined as all the products, goods, and materials sold by a company that are in storage. The inventory management itself logs this inventory from the time it arrives until it leaves the warehouse. The aim of inventory management is to find the optimal balance between the inventory level and the associated inventory costs while at the same time ensuring good availability and customer satisfaction.

    Order Acceptance

Order acceptance is the process of accepting an order from a customer. Orders are accepted either personally or via communication channels. The decisive factor when accepting an order is the best possible availability in order to be able to accept as many orders as possible. With the direct implementation of your online shop in our system, all orders in your online shop are fed into our system and we can accept and process every order.

    Picking

When an order is received, it includes one or more items. Putting this item and these items together is called picking. The picking process is either single-level or multi-level. With single-level picking, a distinction is also made between individual orders and order series. With multi-level picking, orders are processed in partial orders for the sake of efficiency.

    Fulfillment

The complete process of order processing is referred to as fulfillment. In the case of Zenger, fulfillment means that we map the entire order processing in the area of logistics for our customers. From storage and order acceptance to order picking and packaging to franking and shipping. In addition to the above tasks, in the case of Zenger, the customer’s online shop is also connected to our proven merchandise management system.

    Merchandise Management

The term merchandise management describes a process in dealing with goods. The aim of merchandise management is to deal economically with material goods such as goods or products and to have the right quantity of a product of the right quality at the right time and in the right place. A merchandise management system (WWS)n is used to map the goods processes and the target-oriented processing in terms of information technology.

    Return

A return is the return of a shipment to the original sender or to an address specified by the sender. The aim of a return is usually to complain about and return the purchased goods. The basis for this can be, among other things, destruction, defects, expiry dates or incorrect sizes (e.g. in the case of clothing). This means that the ordered goods are not finally purchased, even though they have been ordered and shipped. As a result, no sales are generated.

    E-Commerce

The term e-commerce stands for electronic commerce, electronic business transactions and thus for electronic trade or online trade. The term e-commerce is used, among other things, for the purchase and sale of goods and services over the Internet. In addition to the Internet, companies also use other forms of digital data transmission in the field of e-commerce, e.g. mobile communications or electronic customer databases.

    Warehouse Logistics

Warehouse logistics is a process that deals with the management and storage of own or third-party goods in warehouses. The aim of warehouse logistics is to achieve the greatest possible efficiency in the storage of goods. The process includes all storage and transport processes for planning, controlling and monitoring own and third-party goods from goods receipt to goods issue. Warehouse logistics make it possible for companies to call up information about storage locations and the status of the goods at any time. This means that the goods can be found quickly and dispatched quickly.

    Delivery

The delivery of a shipment to the corresponding recipient is referred to as delivery or delivery. A delivery transfers the power of disposal over the goods. In the age of e-commerce, it is particularly important to make the supply chain as efficient as possible so that delivery can take place as quickly as possible. Within Germany, a delivery time of 1 to 2 working days is standard. Many companies also rely on same-day delivery. Ideally, goods are then delivered to the appropriate recipient within one day.

    Outsourcing

Outsourcing is the outsourcing of a previously self-performed service to one or more external service providers. In the case of Zenger, this means that the previously in-house logistics are completely outsourced to us and we take over all the logistics processes for our customers. By using outsourcing, companies can often save money or thereby gain financial flexibility for other investments.

    Packaging

The preparation of a delivery of goods ready for dispatch is referred to as packaging. The term packaging refers to the wrapping of a packaged good itself, which in turn enables the packaging, sealing and preparation of a package for shipment. Packaging is therefore the result of a packaging process that begins with the design of the packaging (packaging) and forms a packaging system when viewed holistically.

    Startup

Startup is a term that describes newly founded or young companies with a special dynamic. Most startups are based on a perceived demand for a product or service. Startups intend to scale quickly, i.e. to grow quickly, by offering services and products that fill a certain, specific niche in the market. Since growth is a top priority for startups, many startups outsource various business areas such as logistics completely to specialized service providers in order to concentrate exclusively on products, marketing and sales.
